New Haven Promise alumni, who have successfully graduated from college with bachelor’s degrees, are making significant strides in their careers and civic lives, embodying a vibrant “Promise lifestyle” focused on building intergenerational wealth. With 86% of our alumni returning to the region after completing their degrees, they play a crucial role in supporting the economic development of the greater New Haven area.

The year 2021 marked the first time we served more Alumni than current college Scholars. Since then, we’ve continued to support an increasing percentage of Alumni each year.

Two-thirds of Promise alumni surpass their parents’ earnings two years after graduating from college.

Students from the lowest income and parental education bands report earnings comparable to or exceeding those of their peers.

Alumni Undergraduate Debt

Promise alumni graduate from college with low to no debt.

Alumni with a 4.0+ high school GPA accumulated just $6,000 in median undergrad debt, while those in the 3.0 to 3.24 high school GPA range had a median debt of $35,000, nearly SIX times that amount.
