  • Internships are for our eligible scholars that are currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program.
  • Full-time jobs are for our eligible alumni that have earned a college degree or graduating seniors.

Organizations and departments which are not yet linked will have postings soon. Additional roles will be added upon receipt.

To be eligible for a New Haven Promise brokered internship or full-time job, you must:

  • Be in good standing with New Haven Promise (Must not be on an Academic Improvement Plan or dismissed from the New Haven Promise Scholarship).
  • Sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) of our Internship and Career program policies.
  • Have an updated resume uploaded to your New Haven Promise portal. Login under “Current Scholars” and scroll to the Career Information section.
  • For positions at Yale, you will need to complete your STARS profile right away (instructions are provided below).

FULL-TIME POSITIONS AVAILABLE

Full-time Career Resources
New Haven Promise partners with local talent agencies that work to support New Haven residents with their career search. These include the Yale New Haven Hiring Initiative and New Haven Works.

Yale New Haven Hiring Initiative

  • Assists New Haven residents with getting hired at Yale.
  • Accepts referrals from New Haven Promise & New Haven Works.
  • Participants have an exploratory meeting to share more about their career interests.

New Haven Works

  • Assists New Haven residents with job opportunities within New Haven.
  • Application and orientation required to participate.
  • Participants receive a job coach to assist with resumes, cover letters, and interview prep.

Your STARS Profile

STEP TO CREATE YOUR STARS PROFILE

  1. Create New Account if you do not have a STARS profile by clicking “Don’t have an account yet?”. If you already have a STARS profile, log in and update your information.
  2. Read authorization (see bottom of page) and confirm. Note that this obligates you to provide ACCURATE information. FALSE OR INACCURATE INFORMATION WILL DISQUALIFY YOU FROM CONSIDERATION.
  3. Refer to your resume to extract information to complete the STARS profile.
  4. Use correct grammar, punctuation, and capitalization as the profile will be reviewed by Hiring Managers.
  5. Know your exact Cumulative Grade Point Average.
  6. Save and submit your profile.

Once you have successfully completed STARS, you will receive a confirmation email with your candidate reference number. Keep this in a safe place as you may need to reference it at some point.
